About Us

A time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. John 4:23

Our Team

Sam Cerny met the Lord when he was young and grew up in the Anaheim Vineyard. After marrying Brooke, they moved to Central Asia and joined a church-planting team there. After those years of missions work, he returned to the States, taught at Harvest Bible University in downtown Los Angeles, and is currently pastoring Vineyard Yorba Linda. He earned an M.A. in Apologetics from Biola University and a Th.M. from Regent University. Sam and Brooke have four children, and along with a deep passion for the Lord and His church, he loves to backpack, climb peaks, and scuba dive.

Brooke Cerny grew up in the Anaheim Vineyard, and Jesus captured her heart at an early age. She and Sam spent a few years on the mission field in Asia and afterwards returned to the States. Brooke loves the local church and longs to see God move in the community. She is praying for another Jesus People type movement. Her hobbies include traveling and eating out as often as possible. She has four teenage and adult children and her first grandchild on the way. Brooke serves as the San Diego / Orange County area pastor for Vineyard USA.

Our Beliefs

  • We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, inerrant, and authoritative word of God.

  • We believe in the full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His sinless life; in His miracles; in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and in His personal return in power and glory.

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful humanity, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential, and that accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into a relationship with God.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life. We further believe His power and gifts are available to believers today.

  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those who are saved will be resurrected unto eternal life with God, and those who are lost unto eternal separation from Him.

  • We believe it is important to uphold the scriptural practices of the early church. Therefore, we hold to the practice of water baptism and the regular taking of communion. We do not believe that either of these practices is essential for salvation, but that they serve as a demonstration of our living in faith in Christ.
